MUSEUM DISTRICT

FRENCH MODERN

Designing this Museum District home was a particularly meaningful project. The clients wanted a welcoming space for entertaining while raising their two teenagers, all within the context of a home listed on the National Historic Register. We aimed to honor the home’s historic character while creating a highly livable, inviting environment.

The homeowner was deeply involved in the design process, thoughtfully selecting every detail – from fabric colors and wallpaper to statement pieces that made a lasting impact. She embraced vibrant colors, bold art, and transitional upholstered pieces, paired with other more tradtional drapery fabrics. To keep the atmosphere playful, we incorporated whimsical fabrics that added a touch of levity, preventing the historic home from feeling overly formal.

Modern art was brought in to complement her bold color palette, creating a cohesive narrative throughout the home, with each room telling its own unique story. It was a such a pleasure working on this special home.
