Schumacher Wallpaper, Custom Drapery, and Antiques: How This Santa Rosa Beach Bedroom Came Together

When the wallpaper is this good, everything else just needs to support it.

That is not a compromise. That is a design decision and one of the clearest ones we make. When a material arrives with this much presence, the job of everything around it is to hold its own without competing. The room shown here is proof of what happens when that logic is followed completely.

The Wallpaper That Set the Tone

The starting point was Schumacher x Hadiya Williams in sesame. If you know this pattern, you understand why it leads. The scale is generous, the colorway is warm without being obvious, and the texture reads differently depending on the light. It is the kind of wallpaper that makes a room feel authored. Like someone made a real decision here, not a safe one.

We did not build a mood board around it. We built a room around it.

Drapery That Earns Its Place

Custom drapery is never an afterthought at L. Pearson Design, and in a room anchored by a pattern this strong, it could not be. We specified custom LPD drapery in Schumacher fabric with a Samuel & Sons trim. Same house, different expression. The trim is the detail that most people will not consciously notice and that everyone will feel. It ties the drapery back to the wallpaper without mimicking it.

Antiques as the Counterweight
